One of the vegetarian dishes or starters which will make lick your fingers. This is one of my favourite dishes of all time.
I cook this very often as a starter. This dish is very easy to make and tastes so delicious. I highly recommend you guys to try this recipe for a yummy vegetarian starter.
Ingredients:
- 1 – Cauliflower/Gobi
- Plain Flour – 6 tbsp
- Corn Flour – 4 tbsp
- Salt
- Oil
- Garlic – 2-3 tsp chopped
- Green Chilli – 1 tsp(skip this if you don’t like spice)
- Onion – 1 small chopped
- Black Pepper – as per taste
- Light Soy Sauce – 2 tbsp
- Chilli Sauce – 1 tsp (less if you eat less spice)
- Spring Onion Greens – handful
- Ketchup – 1/2 tbsp
- Corn Flour – 1 tsp for sauce
Method:
Step 1: Cauliflower
Clean cauliflower first and cut into pieces. Now boil in the salty water until the cauliflower is cooked and soft.
Dry the cauliflower on paper towel and put it in the bowl.
Step 2: Frying of Cauliflower
In a bowl put all purpose flour, corn flour, chilli powder, salt and mix well. Slowly, add water and keep mixing it thoroughly so that no lumps are formed. You should get thick and runny batter.
Now coat cauliflower with the batter and deep fry them in the oil until they turn into golden brown.
Dry them on the paper towel.
Step 3: Sauce for the Cauliflower
In wok heat the oil on medium heat and put chillies and garlic. Fry them until raw flavour of the garlic is gone.
Now add onions and fry them. When they are translucent add some salt pepper, chilli sauce, soy sauce and ketchup. Stir it few minutes and add one tea spoon of corn flour mixed in some water.
Finally, add the cauliflower and mix it well with the sauce and top it up with spring onions and serve hot.
